Hektor Design Hostel in the vibrant student-city of Estonia, Tartu, is a breath of fresh air. This Tartu Hostel is situated in an old commercial space & warehouse built in the 1950s, converted into an inviting and convenient living space with extra facilities for any type of traveller. Clever usage of space, economical materials & unique design combined with the original architecture in the building create a destination full of smart solutions – it’s a place where a traditional hostel service meets fresh & functional design, comfort and privacy.
Within the multi-functional building, our facilities include a modern gym and yoga room for both physical & mental strength, a lounge with table football & a projector for movie nights, a sauna, laundry room, fully-equipped communal kitchen for shared usage, and, last but not least, a full-service cafeteria with a library on the 1st floor of the building.
Why a new type of hostel?
Hektor Design Hostel Tartu is a boutique, created to offer a new service on the market – combining hotel quality with hostel prices – a special design product in itself. Our mission is to prove that an affordable stay can be provided in a convenient, modern & sophisticated manner, which makes Hektor the perfect choice of accommodation for every kind of traveller. Also, thanks to the versatility of the building, the hostel service can accommodate both short & long term clients – stay for as long as you need!
We cleared the former commercial space in this grand building from anything unnecessary that had accumulated during 60 years, and dressed it in a refined granite gray suit. It was named Hektor. Inside we preserved as much as possible of the original masculine structure that was once built to accommodate large volumes of commodities. From our side, we added only clearly perceptible black&white graphics so you would never get lost. I hope you will enjoy your stay at Hektor Design Hostel.
